**Registration Opens June 15, 2026 and Early Bird Pricing until July 5, 2026**

2026-27 Registration & Fee Information

Welcome to the 2026-27 Foothills Ringette Association (FRA) season! Below is the updated, consolidated breakdown of our registration fees, structures, and policies for the upcoming season.

1. U7 - Active Start Division (Ages 4-6)

New Travel-Free "Home" League Format!

To make the sport predictable and accessible, FRA is transitioning the U7 division into a weekly, travel-free "home" league. Brand new skaters are welcome!

  • Schedule: Regular Wednesday night practices in High River (October 2026 to February 2027).
  • Gameplay: Focuses on skating fundamentals and fun; players will not participate in a traveling league.
  • Included in Fees: Team photos, "The Foothills Freeze" home tournament entry, and a wrap-up fun tournament. (Reversible custom jerseys are optional).

U7 Program Cost & Fees:

When checking out in the registration system, your total will consist of two parts:

  • FRA U7 Registration Fee: $320
  • Ringette Alberta Membership Fee: ~$94 (This is a mandatory annual insurance and membership fee required for all players in the province)

2. Older Divisions Fee Schedule (U10 - U16)

To simplify budgeting, our checkout totals include baseline registration, team cash calls, and postseason entries. This allows families to utilize our monthly payment plans for these extra expenses and ensures teams are funded early to secure tournament spots.

Important Tiers Note: The checkout fees below do not include the mandatory $104 Ringette Alberta (RAB) fee, which will be automatically added to your cart at checkout.

Important Note Regarding U10 Registration & Team Placement:

All U10 players will register and pay the U10 Step 3 fee ($950) at the time of registration. Once evaluations are complete and final team placements are finalized (mid-end of September):

  • Players placed on a Step 2 team will receive a $50 refund.
  • Players placed on a Step 1 team will receive a $100 refund.

Understanding the Included Fees:

  • Base Registration: Covers standard association operational costs, local ice times, and regular league administration.

  • Team Cash Call & Regionals / Session 3: We wrap these team expenses directly into your upfront registration for two major reasons:

    1. Easier on the Budget: By combining these costs into your initial checkout, it allows the fees to be split up across our standard monthly registration payment plans, reducing the financial burden on families at the very start of the season.

    2. Early Tournament Registrations: This ensures our teams are fully funded on day one. Coaches and managers can secure tournament entries early in the fall before spots fill up, completely eliminating the need to wait for team fundraising or immediate out-of-pocket parent collections to cover entry fees

3. Key Association Policies

Jersey Bond Policy (U12 and Up)

  • At Checkout: A $60 jersey bond fee is required for all players in U12 and up.
  • End-of-Season: Upon returning jerseys clean and in good condition, $40 will be fully refunded. The association retains $20 to fund future jersey purchases, cleanings, and repairs.
  • Exemptions: U7 and U10 divisions are exempt from the bond, but jerseys must still be well cared for and returned in good condition.

Volunteer Commitment & Bond Policy

FRA is entirely volunteer-run. Families are expected to contribute time to keep operational costs low by filling seasonal leadership positions (coaches, managers, board members) or joining key committees like The Foothills Freeze tournament or the Year-End Banquet.

  • Volunteer Buyout Option: Families unable to commit time can opt to pay a $400 buyout fee during registration.
  • Policy Detail: Team-specific roles (e.g., game-day minor officiating/scorekeeping, jersey parenting) are essential but do not satisfy this association-level volunteer bond.

4. Financial Assistance & Links

Financial barriers should never keep kids off the ice. Our website connects families to external funding streams like KidSport Alberta and Canadian Tire’s Jumpstart.

Additionally, FRA is proud to announce the development of our own internal Player Grant Program for the 2026-27 season to provide supplemental aid directly to our ringette families in need - DETAILS COMING SOON!
